Police and Conservation Enforcement

     Bay Mills Law Enforcement consists of Police and Conservation Officers. All Bay Mills officers are trained in tribal, federal, and state of Michigan laws. A police officer may assist a conservation officer with their duties and vise-versa. The Bay Mills Police and Conservation (Law Enforcement) is housed in the old tribal medical and dental offices of the Waishkey Center building.

     The police officers main duties are to enforce criminal and civil laws of the Bay Mills Indian Community. The Conservation officers main duties are to enforce the fishing, hunting, trapping laws of Bay Mills Indian Community. The Law Enforcement department includes dispatchers. The dispatchers main duties are to answer the telepone, operate the police radio, take complaints from the public or other agencies, and notify the proper officers. The dispatchers also issues licenses and permits as needed.

     All of the personnel are responsible for twentyfour hour a day coverage of enforcement and emergency situations at Bay Mills Indian Community.
