Flu season hits Chippewa County

It's not easy to avoid exposure to the flu virus because it is spread from person to person the same way a cold is spread — through coughing, sneezing, or talking, which sends the virus into the air. To help prevent spread, cover your mouth when you cough and cover your nose when you sneeze, wash hands frequently and keep sick kids home. Children reported with flu

CHIPPEWA COUNTY — The Chippewa County Health Department (CCHD) and the LMAS District Health Department has received reports of a number of children with illnesses that are consistent with influenza, and there is one report of a 2-year-old from Sault Ste. Marie who had a positive influenza virus screening test in late November. [more]
