New system set up for tax-free cigarettes

BAY MILLS — As of Jan. 1, 2004, Bay Mills tribal members living in the Agreement Area will be able to purchase 21 packs of cigarettes within a seven-day period as a tax-free quota cigarettes purchase.

Any unused portion of the 21-pack limit for tax-free quota cigarettes does not carry over to the next period. Development of the new policy was approved by the Executive Council at its Dec. 4 meeting.
