WIC office at Bay Mills last Tuesday of each month
Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a special food and nutrition program promotion good health and nutrition. Those who are pregnant, breast-feeding, postpartum, or with infants or children up to 5 may be eligible for WIC.
The WIC office will be at the Armella B. Parker Senior Center on the last Tuesday of each month. Clinics are also located in Sault Avery Square and the Kinross Co-Op Mall.

We have reorganized workflow in the hope that we will not have to push the deadline back in order to finish by OUR deadline, which dates we schedule a year ahead at our printers. So, keep your submissions coming, just send them on time. Remember, tribal employees, if it is a payday Thursday, the paper is coming out. If it is not a payday Thursday, it's the deadline.

Gnoozhekaaning Cultural Center Events & Activities
The Gnoozhekaaning Cultural Center, on Tower Rd., is equipped with a large meeting room and kitchen facilities and is available for rent. Call the Cultural Center at 248-5852 for more information. If no one is available, please leave a message.
Men's Group — The Men's Group meets in the Cultural Building every other Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Upcoming meetings are Jan. 13 and Jan. 27. Please call James Roach, 248-5852, for information.
Women's Group — All women welcome. The Women's Group meets every other Wednesday. January meetings are Jan. 14 & 28 beginning at 5 p.m. in the Cultural Center. The group has activities and other interesting items on its agenda.
Scheduled Events
The cultural center is in use from 6-9 p.m. Mondays for a BMCC drumming class and from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. on Fridays for Ojibwe Charter School classes.
Cultural Committee — The Cultural Committee now meets the third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. Community welcome.
Medicine Picking Day — Tuesdays at 1 p.m. Call Lance at 248-5852 for information.
Attention Pregnant Women
Your community has put together a program of classes designed to help you have a healthy baby and positive birth experience.
EARLY PRENATAL CLASS: Dispel the myths, learn “what to expect when you're expecting.” This class is designed for early in pregnancy. The next two class series is scheduled for Jan. 15 and Jan. 22.
LAMAZE PREPARED CHILDBIRTH: Learn relaxation techniques, breathing patterns, and conditioning exercise presented, as well as the stages of labor, preparation, and child development. The next 4-week session is scheduled for Jan. 3.
INFANT CPR & CHOKING CLASS: Learn the basics of lifesaving techniques for your infant. Receive the necessary training to help you in case of an emergency situation. The next class is scheduled for Feb. 11. FREE CLASS

The library is now receiving weekly editions of the “New York Times” and will soon add the “Washington Post.”
Asset Tests
New students will be able to take the asset test during Christmas break from 1 to 5 pm., but will not be able to get their scores until the winter semester begins Jan. 12.
VFW Raffle Winners
Dec. 16 — drawings were cancelled due to severe weather conditions.
Dec. 23 — Glenda Owens of Brimley won $100 and Tony Andary of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., won $25.
This concludes the drawings for this period. We wish to thank everyone who participated and sincerely appreciate the support. we will begin a new raffle in April 2004 and will begin selling tickets sometime in February.
