The annual Bay Mills Indian Community Honors Banquet was held Thursday, May 27, at Bay Mills Resort and Casino's Horizon's Conference Center. Executive Council Vice Chairman Allyn Cameron delivered the keynote address.[more]

Nishnaabemwin Pane Immersion Program takes a different approach to teaching language

Learning to speak Nishnaabemwin is not a simple task for someone who was raised to speak English, considering that the two languages have little in common. The words, grammar and linguistic concepts are quite different, and it is for this reason that the Nishnaabemwin Pane Immersion Program has taken a different approach to presenting the language. Charter School students learn about oral history

The third grade at Ojibwe Charter School has been learning about oral history. We invited Mrs. Perron from the History Department to talk to us about oral history and give us guidelines on how to conduct interviews. We also invited Mrs. Agnes Carrick to share some stories about her life, our area, and other interesting information.
