Community Picnic to be held July 31

The Boys and Girls Club of Bay Mills is pleased to announce that the Annual Bay Mills Community Picnic will be held Saturday, July 31, from 5 to 10 p.m.

Community members are asked to bring a dish to share. We will provide hot dogs, hamburgers and roast pig.

Scheduled activities include live music, cribbage games, a homerun derby, horseshoes, a pie-baking contest and dodge ball. Come out and enjoy yourselves!

The following day, Sunday, Aug. 1, we will be celebrating National Kids' Day. The Boys and Girls Club is working in cooperation with the national branch and over 4,000 communities to establish the first Sunday in August as “National Kids' Day.” Please show your support and bring your kids for a day filled with food, games, contests and fun.

Help us establish this day as a day just for kids!

If you have questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Julie Hopper at 248-3241, ext. 3133.

Picnic admission is a dish to pass

From Irma Parrish

Admission to the Bay Mills Community Picnic is a dish to pass. Irma Parrish is the Coordinator for Food Donations. Please call her at 248-3241, ext. 3160, to let her know what kind of dish you will make. We need to know for planning purposes.

If you're unable to telephone, you're welcome to stop by her office in the Waishkey Center.

Ken Hopper claims he is an expert at making a pot of oatmeal and a wicked dish of stewed prunes. He said he makes the best. Please don't make us ask him to do that!

We look forward to seeking you at the picnic.
