Brimley Bays set for season opener Aug. 27 Brimley FootballBrimley FootballBrimley Football

BRIMLEY — The Brimley Bays varsity football team will kick off their season opener the night of Friday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m. when they host the squad from North Central. This will mark the first time in Brimley School history they have ever hosted a football game at night under the lights.

“The kids are really looking forward to playing under the lights. They're very excited.” said Head Coach Brian Reattoir. “Hopefully, everyone will come out and share in the excitement and watch their first game.”

Reattoir brings nine years of coaching experience to a young team that includes one sophomore, 12 juniors, and six seniors.

“We are a young team, but we are looking good right now. We're ahead of the game,” he said. “The kids are really receptive to what we are teaching them.”

The Brimley varsity football team has had limited success in the past few seasons, and have not reached the playoffs, or won their conference since 1995 — when Reattoir was head coach.

“Our goal for the season is to win the conference and get into the playoffs,” he said. “We have a great group of kids who are excited about this game and know our program. You can expect them to come out each and every night with a high level of intensity.”
