Tennis pro visits Bay Mills, holds training seminar Tennis Pro Tennis Pro

Friday and Saturday, Aug. 13 and 14, the Department of Recreation and Health Promotion, in conjunction with the Bay Mills Community College Extension Program, hosted a tennis training seminar featuring tennis pro Barbara Mueller.

Mueller's impressive resume includes many spectacular events, such as making it to the finals in the U.S. Open in the age category of 35 and over, numerous number one rankings in senior women's single titles as well as double's titles. She is also the current holder of more than 55 U.S. Tennis Association singles and doubles titles and is a member of the United States World Cup Team. She is currently ranked first in the USTA for her age group.

Tennis lessons were open to anyone who wished to participate. Children from the Bay Mills Boys and Girls Club enjoyed spending time with Mueller, learning various tennis strokes — the forehand, backhand, volley and overhead. Adults were given pointers on proper techniques and ways to improve their swing.

Everyone who participated received a USA Tennis t-shirt and various other gifts from Mueller.
