Spectacle Lake yields first wild rice harvest

When Timothy Fillmore was hired at Bay Mills Ojibwe Charter School he was looking for an alternative way to connect with his students, hopefully something that would be reflective of their culture. His first step was to assign each Friday as “Cultural Friday,” where the students' curriculum would focus entirely on the Ojibwe culture.
