Carrick honored by Michigan Department of Corrections



Without hesitation, Carrick jumped from his chair and ran out the front door of the hair salon. Carrick dodged the oncoming traffic and made his way across the street, effectively putting himself in between the woman and the bridge. With his arms straight out at his sides, Carrick said the woman ran right into his chest, yelling and screaming, and fighting to get by to the bridge behind him. [more]

Bay Mills Tribal Member Jerry Parish recently filled the vacant Superintendent position at the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Sault Ste. Marie office. Parish, who has been the acting superintendent for the past year, officially filled the vacant position left by former Superintendent Anne Bolton, who retired in September 2003. [more]
