Brimley honors athletes at 2005 Athletics Banquet

BRIMLEY - Brimley Area Schools hosted their annual Winter/Spring Athletic Banquet on May 25, at the Karl Parker Memorial Gymnasium.

Junior Travis Lynn and Senior Stephanie Freedman took home the coveted Male and Female Athlete of the Year Awards. Lynn led the Brimley Bays Varsity Basketball team to a Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference (EUPC) Championship, averaging 14.4 points per game, 7.3 assists, and 4.6 steals. Freedman led the Bays Varsity Girls Basketball team to a 13-7 record, averaging 9.9 points per game and four rebounds.

Varsity Boys Basketball: Most Valuable Player - Travis Lynn; Ken Payment Award - Travis Lynn; Dan Schwiderson Award - Cody Robbins; Raymond Munsell Award - Nate Halvorsen

Junior Varsity Boys Basketball: Most Valuable Player - Larry Livermore; Most Improved Player - Preston Parish; Mr. Hustle - Frank St. George; Rookie of the Year - Jerrod Dillon; Most Heart - Steve Phillips; Biggest Impact - Seth Schofield; Dan Schwiderson Award - Ryan Freedman

Varsity Boys Golf: Most Valuable Player - Kellen Perron; Most Improved Player - Cody Robbins; Coaches Award - Mike Cole

Varsity Girls Golf - Most Valuable Player - Raelene Menominee; Coaches Award - Shannon Hascall

Varsity Volleyball: Most Valuable Player(s): Candice Leapley and Meghan Routhier; Most Improved Player - Joanna Routhier; Miss Volleyball - Raelene Menominee; Coaches Award - Molly McIntyre and Jessica Singleton

Junior Varsity Volleyball: Most Valuable Player - Ashley Lothrop; Most Improved Player - Kaitlyn Hope; Rising Star - Amber Aikens

Varsity Softball: Most Improved Player - Telisa Hopper; Most Dedicated - PJ Hopper

Varsity Baseball: Robert Parrish Award - Jake Parish

Boys Varsity Track: Most Valuable Player - Josh Winkler; Most Improved Player - Harlen Chartrand; Most Heart - Chris York; Rookie of the Year - Jerrod Dillon

Girls Varsity Track: Most Valuable Player(s): Katey Kingsbury and Stephanie Freedman; Most Improved Player - Miranda Rousseau; Most Heart - Katey Kingsbury; Rookie of the Year - Amber Aikens.
