Bay Mills hosts "Honoring Our Veterans" pow wow



BAY MILLS - Dancers and drummers from throughout the entire Great Lakes region and across the country came to Bay Mills to compete in the 14th Annual Honoring Our Veterans Competition Pow wow, held June 10 to 12.

Vandals attack Bay Mills Police Department

BMPD VandalsSometime between the hours of 11 p.m., Sunday, June 5, and 2 a.m., June 6, the Bay Mills Police Department (BMPD) was attacked by an unknown number of vandals. The vandals used a blunt object to smash the windshields, windows and mirrors out of two BMPD night shift employees' personal vehicles, and to break the windshield of a Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Conservation (GLIFWC) boat. "Dump Road" business to be open for hunting season

When Highland, Mich., native and restaurant owner Robert "Bob" Matley was looking to acquire property for a new business in the Paradise area, he stumbled across what he called "heaven" on a tiny little road in Bay Mills, ironically nicknamed the "Dump Road" by the locals. [more]
