Special Olympics honors area athletes at banquet

The Special Olympics of Michigan Eastern Upper Peninsula (EUP) Special Olympics honored 94 athletes at their annual sports banquet on Tuesday, June 7, at the Bay Mills Resort and Casino's Horizons Conference Center - 190 people were on hand to recognize and celebrate the commitment of the EUP Special Olympics athletes, coaches, and volunteers. Local athletes earn medals at State Summer Games

Special Olympics Athletes from Area 35, - Chippewa, Luce and Mackinac County - earned medals at the 2005 State Summer Games, held June 2 through 4, at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. Nearly 3,000 athletes competed in the games. [more]
