CCCU challenges community

SAULT STE. MARIE - To involve the Chippewa County community and surrounding areas in raising funds for local organizations in partnership with the United Way, Chippewa County Credit Union is sponsoring a community challenge.

In the spirit of the credit union philosophy of "People Helping People," Chippewa County Credit Union is working to fulfill their goal of having every one of their approximately 4,300 members donate $1 to the effort. The credit union will match every dollar donated.

Members of the credit union and the community are encouraged to buy "Community Dollars," which can be purchased for $1 or $5 and will be displayed in credit union lobbies. "Community Dollars" will be sold at both branch locations - 402 West Spruce in Sault Ste. Marie and 4868 West M-80 in Kincheloe - until Wednesday, Nov. 30.

The kick off for the month-long fundraiser will be held Friday, Nov. 4. Refreshments will be served and Northern Broadcasting will broadcast live from the credit union from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
