Holiday help available from Bay Mills Community Giving Program

BAY MILLS - Do you need help for the holidays? If your family meets the income guidelines or monthly income standards, or if you are a single parent who needs help this holiday with food or gifts, you may be eligible for the Community Giving Program.

Bay Mills Social Service Department is working with the Family Independence Agency and other local organizations, individuals, churches and clubs throughout the Eastern Upper Peninsula to provide food and gifts to families for the upcoming holidays.

Bay Mills Resort and Casino, along with Kings Club Casino, will have trees set up with hanging tags for families - no names will be on the tags, only children's ages, clothing sizes, suggestions for toy preference and family size - for casino patrons to donate money or gifts.

Applications for those in need are available in the Ellen Marshall Center, the Bay Mills Tribal Offices and the commodities building Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Families may apply for help with Thanksgiving only, or for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Please complete and return the application before Nov. 17.

Families that only wish to apply for Christmas gifts and food, please reply by Dec. 16.

Send complete applications to Cheryl Baragwanath, Rochelle Menominee or Shelly LeBlanc at the Ellen Marshall Center, 12124 W. Lakeshore Dr., Brimley, Mich., 49715.

By completing and signing the application, you agree to allow the above Social Service representatives to share this information with other organizations. Questions may be forwarded to the Bay Mills Social Service Department at 906-248-3204. Please ask for one of the workers listed above.
