Bay Mills Healthy Start hosts program for women

BAY MILLS - In conjunction with the 2005-2006 Healthy Women Anishnaabe Grant, the Bay Mills Healthy Start Program held a "Dinner & a Movie" event on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

The evening began with dinner at Sacy's Restaurant for the 30 women participating, and ended with everyone attending a movie at GKC Theatre in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. Comments from the survey taken during the event included "Have another event as soon as possible," and, "Women need events like this."

The event was held to provide women with a time of relaxation before the busy holiday season and the overwhelming holiday stress.

Mark your calendars for these upcoming events: the Baby Celebration on Friday, Jan. 20; Women's Night Out on Wednesday, March 22; the Mother/Grandmother Brunch on Sunday, May 21; and Dinner & a Movie on Wednesday, June 14.

For more information on any of these events, please contact Joann LeBlanc, Healthy Start Nurse, at 906-248-5527, ext. 3139.
