Bland and Carrick come out on top in spelling bee

TOP HONORS - Taking home first and second place in the 6th grade spelling bee this year at Brimley Area Schools are Kelsey Bland (L) and Jorja Carrick(R). Bland won the competition by successfully spelling the word "nuisance." She will move forward to the next round of competition.

Carrick misspelled "squeegee," which gave Bland the opportunity to take first place by spelling her word and the next correctly.
