Bay Mills residents had the opportunity to take part in a black ash basket making workshop over the span of three days. Taught by Mike Sagataw, participants learned how to make baskets the old Anishinaabe way, including the selecting, cutting, pounding for splints, splitting of splints and weaving.

The Bay Mills Cultural Lodge hosts events regularly to keep Native traditions and practices ongoing within the community.

For more information on upcoming events call Cultural Coordinator Lance Teeple at 906-437-4372.
